1. The industry keeps running smoothly
(1) Telecom business revenue stabilized and rebounded, and the total telecom business volume grew rapidly
According to preliminary calculations, the total revenue of telecommunications services in 2019 was 1.31 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.8% over the previous year. The total telecommunications business calculated at the price of the previous year was 1.74 trillion yuan, an increase of 18.5% over the previous year.

(2) The fixed communication business maintains rapid growth, and its proportion continues to increase
In 2019, revenue from fixed communications services reached 416.1 billion yuan, an increase of 9.5% over the previous year, and accounted for 31.8% of telecom business revenues, accounting for an increase of 2.6 percentage points from the previous year; mobile communications services achieved revenue of 894.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase The annual decrease was 2.9%, and the proportion of telecom business revenue fell to 68.2%.

Under the influence of various factors such as the slowdown in user growth and the substitution of Internet applications, the voice business revenue in 2019 was 162.2 billion yuan, a 15.5% drop from the previous year, and the proportion of telecom business revenue fell to 12.4%.

(3) Data and Internet businesses have grown rapidly, and emerging businesses have become new driving forces
Cooperate closely with local governments, accelerate the construction of major projects and projects such as smart cities, and actively provide emerging services such as 5G, Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, etc., inject intelligence into the government, empower the industry, and fix value-added and other services It has gradually become a new driving force for the development of the industry. In 2019, revenue from fixed data and Internet services was 217.5 billion yuan, an increase of 5.1% over the previous year. The proportion of revenue from telecommunications services increased from 15.9% in the previous year to 16.6%; revenue from mobile data and Internet services was 608.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase. Increased by 1.5% last year; income from fixed value-added services was 137.1 billion yuan, an increase of 21.2% over the previous year. Among them, revenue from IPTV (Internet TV) services was 29.4 billion yuan, an increase of 21.1% over the previous year; revenue from Internet of Things business increased by 25.5 over the previous year %.

2. The network speed-up and universal service are effective
(1) The growth rate of telephone users has slowed down, and the penetration rate of mobile phones has steadily increased
In 2019, there was a net increase of 34.2 million telephone users nationwide, bringing the total to 1.79 billion, an increase of 2.5% over the end of the previous year. As the demand for the second card slot has basically been released, the annual net increase in mobile phone users has dropped from 149 million in the previous year to 35.25 million, bringing the total to 1.6 billion. The penetration rate of mobile phone users has reached 114.4 units per 100 people, compared with the end of the previous year. Increase by 2.2 units/100 people. The penetration rate of mobile phones in 26 provinces and cities across the country has exceeded 100 units per 100 people. The total number of fixed-line telephone users was 191 million, a decrease of 1.05 million from the end of the previous year, and the penetration rate dropped to 13.6 units per 100 people.

(2) Fixed broadband enters the gigabit era, with 4G users accounting for over 80%
The implementation of the “dual G and dual promotion” work has been accelerated, network speeds have been effectively accelerated, and fixed broadband has entered the gigabit era. As of the end of December, the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users of the three basic telecommunications companies reached 449 million, a net increase of 41.9 million throughout the year. Among them, there are 870,000 users with access speeds of 1000Mbps and above, and the total number of fixed Internet broadband users with access speeds of 100Mbps and above reaches 384 million, accounting for 85.4% of the total number of fixed broadband users, an increase of 15.1 compared to the end of the previous year percentage point. Mobile network coverage extends in depth, with the total number of 4G users reaching 1.28 billion, a net increase of 117 million in the year, accounting for 80.1% of the total number of mobile phone users.

(3) The universal service of telecommunications has achieved remarkable results, and the rapid growth of rural broadband users
As of the end of December, the country’s rural broadband users had a net increase of 17.36 million throughout the year, reaching a total of 135 million, an increase of 14.8% over the end of the previous year, and the growth rate was 6.3 percentage points higher than that of urban broadband users; it accounted for 30% of fixed broadband access users (It accounted for 28.8% in the same period last year), which was an increase of 1.2 percentage points from the end of the previous year.

(4) The development of new business formats is gratifying, and the scale of cellular IoT users is rapidly expanding
Strengthen ecological cooperation, focus on key areas such as the Internet of Things, cloud services, smart life, vertical industry applications, and 5G, and accelerate the cultivation of emerging businesses. As of the end of December, the three basic telecommunications companies had developed 1.03 billion cellular Internet of Things users, a net increase of 357 million users throughout the year. The net increase in IPTV (Internet TV) users was 38.7 million in the year, and the net increase in IPTV (Internet TV) users accounted for 78.9% of the net increase in optical fiber access users.
3. The scale of mobile data traffic consumption has steadily expanded
(1) Mobile Internet traffic has grown rapidly, and monthly average traffic (DOU) has steadily increased
The integration and innovation of online and offline services have remained active, and various Internet applications have accelerated their penetration to fourth- and fifth-tier cities and rural users, so that mobile Internet access traffic consumption has maintained rapid growth. In 2019, mobile Internet access traffic consumption reached 122 billion GB, an increase of 71.6% over the previous year, and the growth rate was 116.7 percentage points lower than the previous year. The average monthly user traffic (DOU) of the mobile Internet throughout the year reached 7.82GB/user/month, which was 1.69 times that of the previous year; the DOU in December was as high as 8.59GB/user/month. Among them, mobile Internet traffic reached 121 billion GB, an increase of 72.4% over the previous year, and accounted for 99.2% of the total traffic.

(2) The mobile short message business volume has grown rapidly, while the voice business volume has declined slightly
The continuous penetration of security-related services such as network login and user identity authentication has greatly increased the volume of mobile SMS business. In 2019, the national mobile short message business volume increased by 37.5% over the previous year, and the growth rate was 23.5 percentage points higher than the previous year; the mobile short message business revenue completed 39.2 billion yuan, the same as the previous year.

The impact of the substitution of Internet applications for voice services has deepened. In 2019, the duration of outgoing calls on mobile phones nationwide was 2.4 trillion minutes, a decrease of 5.9% from the previous year.

4. Continuous consolidation of network infrastructure capabilities
(1) Investment in fixed assets increased slightly, and investment in mobile communications accelerated
In 2019, the three basic telecommunications companies and China Tower Co., Ltd., driven by the rapid growth of 5G-related investment, completed a total of 4.7% increase in fixed asset investment over the previous year. Among them, mobile communications investment ranked first in telecommunications investment, accounting for 47.3% of the total investment.
(2) The effect of optical network transformation is remarkable, and the construction of 5G network is progressing in an orderly manner
Promote network IT-based, software-based, and cloud-based deployment, consolidate the foundation for smart operations, build a cloud-network interconnection platform, and consolidate network capabilities to provide services for various industries; 4G coverage blind spots are continuously eliminated, mobile communications core network capabilities continue to improve, and 5G is consolidated The foundation of network construction. In 2019, the length of newly built optical cable lines was 4.34 million kilometers, and the total length of optical cable lines nationwide reached 47.5 million kilometers. The trend of Internet broadband access ports is more obvious. As of the end of December, the number of Internet broadband access ports reached 916 million, a net increase of 48.26 million from the end of the previous year. Among them, fiber access (FTTH/0) ports increased by 64.79 million compared with the end of the previous year, reaching 836 million, and their share of Internet access ports increased from 88.9% at the end of the previous year to 91.3%. The number of xDSL ports decreased by 2.61 million compared with the end of the previous year, and the total number fell to 8.2 million. The proportion of xDSL ports in Internet access ports decreased from 1.2% at the end of the previous year to 0.9%.

In 2019, there was a net increase of 1.74 million mobile phone base stations nationwide, bringing the total to 8.41 million. The total number of 4G base stations reached 5.44 million. The construction of 5G network is progressing smoothly, and continuous outdoor coverage of 5G networks in key urban areas has been achieved in many cities, and local governments have been assisted to achieve indoor coverage in exhibitions, important venues, key business districts, airports and other areas.

5. Coordinated development of eastern, central and western regions
(1) The revenue share of telecom business in the eastern, central, western and northeastern regions is stable
In 2019, the eastern and western regions accounted for 50.9% and 23.7%, respectively, up 0.3 and 0.1 percentage points from the previous year; the central and northeastern regions accounted for 19.6% and 5.8%, down 0.1 and 0.3 percentage points respectively from the previous year percentage point.

(2) The proportion of fixed Internet broadband access users of 100M and above in Northeast China is leading
As of the end of 2019, fixed Internet broadband access users of 100Mbps and above in the eastern, central, western, and northeastern regions reached 171.43 million, 92.72 million, 96.02 million, and 23.6 million, respectively, accounting for the respective proportions of broadband access users in the region Reach 86.1%, 85.9%, 83.3% and 87.5%.
(3) The growth rate of mobile Internet traffic in the western region leads the country
In 2019, mobile Internet access traffic in the eastern, central, western, and northeastern regions reached 53.1 billion GB, 26.2 billion GB, 35.5 billion GB, and 7.25 billion GB, respectively, an increase of 67.8%, 75.2%, 76.7%, and 62.4% over the previous year. The growth rate in the west was 8.9, 1.5, and 14.3 percentage points higher than that in the east, central and northeast, respectively. In December 2019, the average monthly household traffic in the western region reached 9.5GB, 1.04GB, 1.43GB and 1.76GB higher than the eastern, central and northeastern regions respectively.
